Peter Fong – firstname.lastname@example.org
Soon after Peter became a Christian at the age of 18, he attend a Bible college to be trained as a pastor. He also attended and graduated from Seminary to enrich his understanding of the Bible and faith. But before becoming a pastor for more than 20 years, he worked as a Controller in the banking industry.
In 2007, Peter was asked (called) by several Elders of different Chinese Church in Christ (CCIC) sister churches to help plant a new church to reach second generation Asian Americans. This led to the forming of Breakaway Christian Fellowship.
Peter's main joys are his wife for 30 years, Jean, his five children (four grown and one adopted), and his granddaughter. His other joys are playing computer games (D3, SC, HoMM) and making disciples through Bible reading.
For Peter, there is nothing more exciting than seeing people's lives being changed by the Word—to see their eyes light up, head spinning, and heart pounding as the Word is proclaimed and taught in light of God's grace and love.
Thomas Chen – email@example.com
Thomas was born in Taiwan and moved to the Bay Area at the age of six. He grew up going to CCIC and being very involved with his youth group. During college, he spent a couple of summers in China teaching and sharing Christ's love to the students. There, Thomas caught a glimpse of God's heart for His people. This compelled him to answer the call to full-time ministry. In 1999, Thomas graduated from UCLA and attended seminary at Talbot School of Theology.
While in seminary, Thomas met an exceptional girl named Esther while she was attending Biola University on the same campus. After receiving his Masters of Divinity in 2002, Thomas served as a youth pastor at CCIC–San Jose for seven years. Thomas and Esther were married in 2005 and are blessed with two outgoing kids—Corey (‘08) and Corinne (’11).
In 2009, Thomas transitioned over to Breakaway Christian Fellowship with a burden to see the next generation be a part of a church where they can grow, serve, and lead. Thomas is passionate about impacting lives with the truth of God’s love that sets us free. He enjoys movies, acting, preaching, speaking at retreats, getting good deals, and eating good food.
