Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

About Us
Breakaway. From what and to what? The answer to this question is at the heart of what we want our church to be about.
As Hebrews 12:1-2 says, since we have the inspiring examples of the people of faith (in Hebrews 11), we lay aside or throw off
everything that hinders us. By doing so, we can then fix our eyes on Jesus and run the race that is set before us, the race that is our journey of faith.
The picture is that of a race where the runner breaks free of the pack in order to set the pace.
If that doesn't happen, he allows the pack to set the pace for him. He must break free and set the pace in order to win the race.
The same is true in our spiritual journey. Unless we break free, we will not experience the abundant life that Jesus frees us to live.
Breakaway. From what? From anything and everything that keeps us from the goal. From anything that weighs us down.
To what? To embrace the new life in Christ. To freedom and to the fullness of life in Him. To run the race that is set before us.
To live and fulfill God's vision for us as the church - to establish a church for the second generation of Asian immigrants.
To have this church of their own where they can grow and serve.
Breakaway…from all that hinders us…to run the race set before us…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
